Where are you from originally?
Do you have siblings?
Yes, one brother and a sister in-law.
Do you have pets?
Yes, one cat named Hermione. I am a big fan of Harry Potter.
Why did you choose a career in audiology?
I chose this career because I wanted a profession where I could combine my love for science with my love for helping people.
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
The ability to communicate is a big contributor to one’s quality of life. I enjoy being able to improve my patient’s lives by restoring their ability to communicate with their friends and family.
What is your favorite restaurant in the Lewiston, Maine area?
Norway Brewing Company. They have a great selection of craft beer and the best food with locally sourced ingredients.
What are your hobbies and leisure time activities?
I enjoy being outside in any capacity. I love to read a book in the hammock. I also enjoy golfing with my husband, Jacob.
Do you listen to a favorite podcast?
I love the Serial podcast, or anything related to true crime.
What type of music is playing on your car radio?
I love a variety of music, but I mostly listen to country.
Coffee or tea?
Coffee. I treat myself to an iced caramel macchiato from Starbucks on Fridays!
Night in or night out on the town?
I enjoy nights out on the town as long as I’m back home and in bed by 9 pm!
What is your favorite vacation destination?
My two favorites have been Hawaii and Alaska – total opposites but both are equally beautiful.
Do you like to cook? If you do, what is your favorite thing to cook?
I am not a good cook whatsoever! My husband makes some pretty amazing dishes, though. He is the cook in our family.
Have you ever run a 5k, half or full marathon? Or, totally not your jam.
I have run several 5k races and really enjoy them. I am currently training for a half marathon.
What is your favorite book?
I couldn’t pick just one favorite! My favorite author is Elin Hilderbrand. I love all of her books.
When is it time to seek professional help?
As soon as you feel you are experiencing difficulty hearing and/or understanding conversations, especially if you have begun AVOIDING situations and activities that you enjoy because of your hearing difficulties.
