Dr. Allyson Rainer, Au.D., CCC-A, F-AAA
Allyson Rainer, Au.D., CCC-A, F-AAA joined our practice in March 2021. Allyson has been a doctor of Audiology since 2014, working in a variety of clinical settings. A graduate of the University of South Alabama, Dr. Rainer is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology and earned her Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC-A) from the American Speech & Language Association. Having arrived in Maine just in time for the final flurries of spring snow, she eagerly awaits her first Maine summer and all the splendor of our four New England seasons (five, if you count mud season). Dr. Rainer is accepting new patients of all ages and looks forward to serving our community.
Michelle joined LA Hearing Center in 2017 as the practice receptionist. Michelle assists patients from the very first time they are in touch with our practice, and then throughout their hearing healthcare journey. In 2021 Michelle received her Trainee License from the Maine Board of Speech, Audiology and Hearing. Under the supervision of Dr. Rainer, Michelle is working toward becoming a Hearing Aid Specialist, also known as a Hearing Aid Dealer and Fitter. A kind and friendly presence, she looks forward to welcoming you to our practice. Michelle has lived in Lewiston for 12 years and loves it! She has 2 cats and a dog and especially enjoys being outdoors during our glorious Maine fall.
Hillary Dow, MBA Practice Manager
Hillary joined LA Hearing Center in January 2020 as the practice manager. Hillary brings extensive marketing and business experience to the practice, having also worked in several healthcare settings. Prior to joining the staff, Hillary was a member of the agency’s board of directors for twelve years, including serving as board president and chair of the marketing and PR committee. With a head for business and a deep love for the organization, she is thrilled to now be part of the leadership team. Hillary and her husband, Adam, are proud parents of two young children (including a 2020 Sandcastle graduate). When she’s not here at the practice, she is paddling, needle felting, cooking, and authoring & illustrating children’s books!
When is it time to seek professional help?
As soon as you feel you are experiencing difficulty hearing and/or understanding conversations, especially if you have begun AVOIDING situations and activities that you enjoy because of your hearing difficulties.
